Holly Not So Jolly Christmas and Beyond

Well, Christmas was actually very nice though Christmas Eve was one of the WORST I had ever had. Jason was a total ass and yelling about Ajay and pulling all kinds of crap. He got angry with Cassi because she screamed and cussed him out about how he was treating Ajay - her BEST friend! It just got all out of hand. I was angry, frustrated and went to bed before Jason and Susan came home from Susan's mom's. I did go to sleep after taking extra med to make me SLEEP! But it was definitely the WORST Christmas Eve ever. I hope that Jason is somewhere else or I am next holiday. I won't have him ruin another holiday season! In fact, Christmas morning I didn't want to wake up. But Jordan eventually woke me up for his stocking. Cassi and Ajay had spent Christmas Eve at my mom's. It was just a sad evening. At least I made Chili Mac. That was yummy!

Eventually Jordan got me up. He and I took pix of us with our stockings. I had a hard time getting ready to go to my mom's for Christmas. Jason and Susan were gone. Jason had worked the night audit shift and from there Susan picked him up and they went up to her brother's house for Christmas. It was no picnic for her either. She had to put up with Jason.

Butt once I got to my mother's, it was a good day! We ate, opened gifts - which I was thrilled to have gotten a couple things I had not expected! I was given a book, a check for $20 and a gift card to Walmart for $25! It was awesome! Tim tried to get me into a debate and I stopped it before it could go anywhere. He got so miffed that he left! LOL! I was irritated and yet happy at the same time. Does that makes sense?

I also watched "A Walk To Remember," that Tim was supposed to watch with Nancy and Rudolpho. It was a good movie but not one I would add to my collection. I did enjoy it though. It was worth watching for sure. Butt it's a movie I would really just watch once.

Also I had some Chocolate Milk Wine! YUMMY!! It got me tipsy really fast and lasted about 20-30 minutes! That was cool! If I could get some for New Year's Eve, I would! In fact, maybe I will depending on how expensive it is.

I also had pie and then left after saying bye to everyone and giving Jordan a BIG hug! :-) So I had a pretty great day! Then I came home . . . :-( Jason started into his attitude about he wants an apology from Cassi for her yelling at him. Personally I think she should apologize for the screaming, but not apologize for cussing him out. He is allowed to being an ass all the time to everyone. It's not fair and not right. Other people have feelings too and Cassi won't let him get away with shit like that. But he started in on demanding an apology so I started to go back to my room and he said I didn't have to go, so I just put my stuff down and came back out. Guess what the fricken baby did? When I came out he went into his bedroom!! Okay, what? He had to make a stupid point or something? I don't know. I didn't get it, but it pissed me off. I think he apologized to me, bu to be honest I don't remember. Maybe it was because he is always apologizing and I just don't believe it's true anymore.

The day after Christmas was fun! I got to do some shopping with my Gift Card! I bought some more off-brand Splenda because I'm almost out. I also got the movie "Traitor" for $3. A movie "Savages" for $5 and "Ron White A Little Unprofessional." I can't wait to watch that one! Ron White is soooooo funny! I also finally bought myself a new wallet since my other one got stolen. It's pink fake alligator skin and it's perfect! I can't shove tons of receipts into it! My old one was mostly full of receipts! :-P

When I got home, I parked on the street to shut Jason up about Ajay in my car in the parking lot of the apartments. He can't do ANYTHING about it now. It's my car and it's on the street! He can't do shit! Yay!

On December 27th I took Ajay with Cassi to the Welfare office in El Cajon so he could turn in some food stamps paperwork and set another appointment. From there, we were hungry. I had a couple of dollars and Ajay had a dollar and a dime - just enough for two tacos for a $1 at Jack in the Box. We went inside, got our tacos, and talked. I kept track of the time and planned to get back in time to take Jason to the trolley. I did, but as he and I went to leave, Ajay was coming into the complex. Jason starts getting in his face saying he can't be here. That he is trespassing, and all this shit. I told him he was going to talk to his mom! OMG! What an ass! Then we're going to the car and Cassi yelled at him again and though I didn't see is face, but by his body language I could tell he was in a rage! I couldn't really get out of my car fast enough to do anything so I was holding my phone waiting for my daughter to scream! It turns out that she blocked his way at the gate with the gate for a minute that might have had just enough time for him to realize what he was doing or something. But eventually he just went to the apartment to lock the door. Which was stupid because he had to know that I would just open the door as soon as I got back - a whole 10-15 minutes maybe.

When he got back in the car, he spend the rest of the time trying to convince me he wasn't going to hit her. That he would never hit a kid.Had I ever seen him hit a kid? But I knew he had been ready to hit her. Body language doesn't lie and he spent THAT much time trying to convince me he wasn't going to and never would hit her? Yeah. Okay. I vented to Susan when I had a chance and after that, I have been on edge waiting for him to do something I can call the cops on him for. Isn't that sad? He was one of my best friends. I had left him blow up on me so many times, reducing me to tears, but I would eventually brush it off and never really think about it again. But that's how I dealt with abuse and I NEVER put it together until recently. I love him, but I am so angry inside when it comes to him. I just am and I don't think it's going to go away until we are no longer near each other like this.

Yesterday was okay. He and I stayed away from each other most of the day. He did push me to bake something and I really didn't want to, but I made cookies. They did turn out pretty good and he heated up dinner for us.

Today he seemed okay, but God knows who he'll be when he gets back. Ugh! I just need to get something to eat and keep my mind busy!

FINALLY!!!

Okay, I have been trying to write an entry for at least a week or two, but by evening I am so tired I can barely concentrate, so it looks like I'm going to have to write these during the day. :-P I don't mind really, it's just I like to be able to recap my day. I'll just have to adjust! Not a problem.

Well, around the first of the month I got sick with a nasty cold! I am thoroughly convinced that adults are not meant to get sick. My daughter had it before me and though she had some symptoms for awhile, she was only really sick for 2-3 days. Me? I was mostly in bed for a week! Ick! I felt so rotten! I'm just glad it's over and I hope I don't get another cold anytime soon. I do need to get a flu shot though. I might make an appointment to go get it this week. Then I can finally get my blood drawn too. I'm not afraid of needles or giving blood, I just haven't wanted to. Plus, I hate to fast. Not like it's a big deal, but I don't like how shaky I get. I'm not a diabetic. The surgery I had for some reason keeps Diabetes at bay. But I think it's the way my body works. I have always been like that.

Anyway, after my sick week, I got back to normal though I could feel myself falling down a bit emotionally. Of course, that turned out to mostly be my monthly showing up. I started feeling a little better after it was over, of course. However something else happened that really upset me. It's going to sound stupid, at least it does to me, but others have told me that it WAS a violation of me. Basically Jason got upset with me because I let Cassi spend the night with a friend that lives IN OUR COMPLEX on a school night. She's been really good about going to school now that I implemented a new rule. I get her a bus pass every month, but she doesn't actually have to have it. She gets a bus ride to school and home. But she likes to do things on the weekends and visit friends after school. Basically it comes down to either she goes to school or she doesn't get her bus pass for the following month. It works BEAUTIFULLY!! :-D Now she's not fighting me about going to school and I really have her school therapist to thank. She was the one who gave me the idea! I would never have thought of it! Cassi doesn't seem to mind now. It makes a big difference when you actually go all the time! :-D I think she is starting to realize that she can do this! But she really had a hard time in September in regards to the baby she lost. But she is back on track! She's also on some new medication. She's on Prozac. She's on a really low dose at the moment and I'm seeing a little improvement, I think anyway. But she hasn't been on it very long and the full effects don't kick in for six weeks. She's not there yet. We'll see what happens. If this doesn't work he wants to try Lamictal for her. Guess we'll see what happens!

Anyway, but to the story. Basically Jason got angry with me for it and in retaliation he deleted every recording I had on the DVR, including two documentaries I sleep to. I was so angry and it. I stayed hurt for days and I even got a little depressed over it, though I wasn't sure why it was keeping me down. Well, it was a response to the violation he had perpetrated on me. Kind of gave me a flashback. It was something John would do, or my brother would do. It triggered me. I've only recently started going back to myself in the last few days. Just goes to show you how easily we can be triggered to past abuse.

Well, I have been keeping myself busy. In fact, I guess you can say I'm addicted to Facebook! LOL! I run several groups, though only 3 are really used - Little Bit of Everything, Recipes Collection, Daily Gratitude . . . I also run 5-6 Pages - Karissa da Kit Kat Queen of her Domain, my Writnngs Page, Traditional Holidays Though the Years, Overcoming Abuse, Food for the Holidays, and Christmas Cookies and Candies. Needless to say, I have ways to keep busy. LOL! In fact, I just reactivated Karissa's page and I just created Christmas Cookies and Candies last night. I was looking for a page or a group that would just have Christmas cookie recipes or Christmas baking . . . something . . . but there was nothing that was active or what I wanted in a group or page. So I decided to make my own! I'll have to do all the work, but if I find good recipes I have places to put them. My most active page at the moment is Traditional Holidays Through the Year. I have almost 200 likes for the page itself. I post pix that I find on the web, plus holiday treats, ideas, I ask questions . . . What's cool is that I also have over 30 people like Christmas Cookies and Candies and I made the page at around 10:00pm last night! Of course I did post the new page on my Traditional Holidays Through the Year page.

Today I want to do some baking. I need to decide if I want to make a cake, cup cakes or muffins. I haven't decided yet. But that is on the agenda. But I did call for a prescription refill for myself. Good thing I remembered! I also took my morning meds, gave Karissa treats and fed my fish - Tucker and King Sushi II. I have plenty more to do today of things I need to get done around the house - take care of the cats litter boxes, wash dishes as I get them dirty or make them dirty! But I'm going to have time to watch a couple of things I recorded on the DVR. I also recorded another documentary that I might be able to sleep to. It's the narrator's voice. It's calm and steady. It's soothing to me. Yes, I know I'm weird. :-P

Well, I think that's enough for now. So I hope your day is a good one! Mine will be! :-D

It's Good to be Me! :-D

I am so happy to feel more like myself today. Being without my Invega was very hard and messed me up for awhile, but I feel back to normal which is a GREAT thing! :-) I woke up really early this morning, but I think it was because I wanted to make sure Cassi got off to school. She fought me a little bit, but I held firm and she went! :-) I just want her to go and learn, catch up . . . She can do it, she just needs to apply herself. And with the new medication she's supposed to start on Monday, things should start getting better for her. Prozac worked for Jordan and works for me too (in a low dose), so chances it will work for her too. I started feeling better within a week and I noticed a difference in Jordan in a week of taking it, so even though it takes 6 weeks to reach full effectiveness, I hope to see some improvement within the first week. That's what I hope for with her. Anything to pull her out of the depression she's been in for so long.

Anyway, after Cass went to school, I stayed awake. I made myself some cold pumpkin spiced coffee. Actually half caff. LOL! I brewed the pots with both decaf and regular coffee and the pumpkin pie spice yesterday. It always tastes so much better the next day. I guess it gives the spices enough time to seep into the coffee.

After that, I got onto the computer for awhile. I posted on my FB pages - "Overcoming Abuse," "Traditional Holidays Through the Year," and my Writings page. I even looked up articles on how to boost self-esteem and stuff on mindfullness. I want my "Overcoming Abuse" page to really be about not just learning that it wasn't your fault you went through abuse, but also ways to cope with the aftermath. I might share my story at some point, but there is so much to tell. Plus my memory isn't the greatest, especially about the abuses. Don't get me wrong, I remember them, but there's a lot I don't remember like exactly when things happened. I can just tell you they did happen. I had to deal with low self-esteem most of my life. I had to learn to be assertive and it took a LONG time before I thought of myself as a good parent or even just a good person. I can honestly say that now I'm away from my abusers I feel so much better. I have become a person that I enjoy waking up to! I like me now! :-)

I also got some time in with Jason before I had to take him to the trolley. I like when we having times in the morning. We get to talk. We get each other since we both struggle with some off the same things and knowing and understanding how someone feels is key to a close relationship. We are close. We've know each other and been close friends for 18 years! :-)

I came back from dropping him at the trolley and made myself more coffee. I started cleaning the stove. It was in serious need of a cleaning. LOL! I also decided to scrub the sinks, but they didn't get as clean as I wanted them to. Guess the only other thing I can do is try lots of bleach and let it sit for a few hours! I also baked some muffins - triple berry chocolate chip. They turned out pretty well! I'm glad I made them!

I also did my other chores. I cleaned out the cats, washed Karissa's dish out, I did more on the computer posting in my groups on FB. I also decided I was going to write a Flash Fiction only I made it a Flash Non-Fiction. I wrote about the last physical fight John and I got into. I made it quick because it was a Flash story (between 100-300 words long). But it was what it was - a blurry remembrance of the traumatic event. It actually started a discussion on a writing group I'm in.

I have to say one of the best ways to put myself in a better mood is to smile at myself in the mirror in the morning. Adding a silly face after makes me smile more. It can help for sure! Something to try when you feel down. Just don't back down and convince yourself you can't do anything, because when you force yourself and get something done you feel better about yourself. I know it works for me.

I also talked to my therapist. We had a phone session. It ended early because I said everything I needed and he offered his take. I touched on an event that's OVER. I talked to him about Cassi and just life in general - how it had been without the Invega and how better I feel on it. I love talking with him because a lot of times it gives me clarity of thought. That's always a good thing.

What's funny is I never thought I would be a Betty Domestic. I am still a slob, but I like to take care of things. I like a clean kitchen. I love to bake and cook! I am serious about taking care of my pets - family. I am happy and I feel loved and appreciated here. I am not judged or criticized. Who would have thought that just being happy and feeling needed and wanted could turn me into  one - or as much of one as I can be and still be me! :-)

I made dinner tonight too. I made a Chicken Buffalo Rice dinner - two packages Buffalo Chicken flavored rice, a can of chunk chicken breast and steamed carrots mixed together and served with ranch dressing on top. :-) It as so good!! Jason didn't want any, but he's not big into spices. Not that it's very hot. LOL! He's had it before and liked it. Guess tonight he wasn't in the mood. But I ended my meal with some of the cherry chocolate cobbler I made the other day. It is still so good! Yum! Next time I should heat it a little bit. Mmmmmmmm!

Well, I guess that's it for this day! On to the Next!!

Two Types of Abusive People

I grew up being bullied and put down by my mother where everything was someone else's fault or it was my fault. She ruined my self-esteem and my feelings of self worth. She was always after me - why didn't I do that right? How could I do this? If I didn't do what she wanted she would go to all HER children and say how awful I was. When I would confront her, it was always my fault or I would hear, "If you don't like it, then change!" As if that made her emotional abuse of me okay. But now that I am out of her house and on my own I feel free. She is or has very narcissitic tendencies. She has no empathy for others. You should only care about how things effect her and so on. It was always about her and what she wanted. It was never about how I felt. It took me years, but I finally started finding my self-esteem again. It's not an easy road, but I will continue to work on myself for the rest of my life.

I don't believe my mom is a full-blown Narc, because she's also co-dependent. But the damage she did and how she acted was like a Narc. Also I should mention that her children are too. Plus my Ex Husband was as well. Though I have some B Cluster Personality traits, I don't fall into any particular category. Plus I work on myself to better the kind of person I am every day.

This is what I found about Narcissists:

Narcissistic Personality Disorder

Narcissism is a term used to describe a focus on the self and self-admiration that is taken to an extreme. The word "narcissism" comes from a Greek myth in which a handsome young man named Narcissus sees his reflection in a pool of water and falls in love with it.
Narcissistic personality disorder is one of a group of conditions called "Cluster B" or "dramatic" personality disorders. People with these disorders have intense, unstable emotions and a distorted self-image. Narcissistic personality disorder is further characterized by an abnormal love of self, an exaggerated sense of superiority and importance, and a preoccupation with success and power. However, these attitudes and behaviors do not reflect true self-confidence. Instead, the attitudes conceal a deep sense of insecurity and a fragile self-esteem. People with narcissistic personality disorders also often have a complete lack of empathy for others.

What Are the Symptoms of Narcissistic Personality Disorder?

In many cases, people with narcissistic personality disorder:
  • Are self-centered and boastful
  • Seek constant attention and admiration
  • Consider themselves better than others
  • Exaggerate their talents and achievements
  • Believe that they are entitled to special treatment
  • Are easily hurt but may not show it
  • Set unrealistic goals
  • May take advantage of others to achieve their goals
Other common traits of narcissistic personality disorder include the following:
  • Preoccupation with fantasies that focus on unlimited success, power, intelligence, beauty, or love
  • Belief that he or she is "special" and unique, and can only be understood by other special people
  • Expectation that others will automatically go along with what he or she wants
  • Inability to recognize or identify with the feelings, needs, and viewpoints of others
  • Envy of others or a belief that others are envious of him or her
  • Hypersensitivity to insults (real or imagined), criticism, or defeat, possibly reacting with rage, shame, and humiliation
  • Arrogant behavior and/or attitude

What Causes Narcissistic Personality Disorder?

The exact cause of narcissistic personality disorder is not known. However, many mental health professionals believe it results from a combination of factors that may include biological vulnerabilities, social interactions with early caregivers, and psychological factors that involve temperament and the ability to manage stresses. Some researchers believe that narcissistic personality disorder may be more likely to develop when children experience parenting styles that are excessively pampering, or when parents have a need for their children to be talented or special in order to maintain their own self-esteem. On the other end of the spectrum, narcissistic personality disorder might develop as the result of neglect or abuse and trauma inflicted by parents or other authority figures during childhood. The disorder usually is evident by adolescence or early adulthood when personality traits have become consolidated.

How Is Narcissistic Personality Disorder Diagnosed?

Personality, by definition, involves stable traits that develop over time.  If physical symptoms are present, a doctor may undertake a medical history and physical exam. There are no lab tests that diagnose personality disorders, but if someone has experienced a change from their usual personality, a doctor may order diagnostic tests, such as neuroimaging or blood tests, to rule out a neurological or other physical illness as the cause of a change in personality.
If the doctor finds no physical reason for the symptoms, he or she would likely refer the person to a psychiatrist or psychologist, health care professionals who are specially trained to diagnose and treat mental illnesses. Psychiatrists and psychologists use specially designed interview and assessment tools to evaluate a person for a personality disorder.

How Is Narcissistic Personality Disorder Treated?

There is no known cure for narcissistic personality disorder, but psychotherapy (a type of counseling) might help the person learn to relate to others in a more positive and rewarding way. Long-term psychotherapy tries to provide the person with greater insight into his or her problems and attitudes in the hope that this will change behavior. The goal of therapy is to help the person develop a better self-esteem and more realistic expectations of others. Medication might sometimes be used to treat the distressing symptoms, such as behavioral problems, that might occur with this disorder, but medicines are not the mainstay of treating personality disorders.

What Complications Are Associated With Narcissistic Personality Disorder?

People with narcissistic personality disorder might abuse drugs and/or alcohol as a way of coping with their symptoms. They may also have problems in relationships and in work or school performance.

What Is the Outlook for People With Narcissistic Personality Disorder?

The prognosis depends on the severity of the disorder and the degree to which people who seek treatment recognize problems within themselves and desire to change aspects of their personality that may be maladaptive.

I have also a woman that I thought was a previous friend that fits a lot of this, but she also, I believe has something else - Histrionic Personality Disorder. We had a falling out FIVE YEARS ago. I wrote her once last year extending an olive branch to maybe mend fences. She turned around and blocked me. I let it go, but I did check up on her pages, but something hit me one day after giving my life to God to just let things go. I did, but then in July I wanted to congratulate her on getting a book published. So I wrote her one more time. She gets one of her son's friends to harass me online on one of my accounts (I don't block what I have to say from anyone), in fact, it was as mean as it could be. I was shocked and decided to leave her alone and I did for the most part, but something kept nagging at me so I found her blog. She said I was stalking her. That I was going to come after her! Yeah, I looked at her pages online, but I have NEVER made a threat to her that I was EVER going to hurt her or track her down. I could care less. But then she gets another of her son's friends to attack me again on one of my other pages and tells me that now she's dying because of me. That I am giving her blood clots! Ugh! Over two friendly letters I get this crap? But now I can honestly say we were never friends. You can't be real friends who can't think of anyone else besides themselves. Who have to be the center of attention and create drama every day of their life.

Here's something about Histrionic Personality Disorder:

Things Histrionic People Do

Picture

1. THEY NEED CONSTANT REASSURANCE & APPROVAL.

People with HPD are sensitive to disapproval. If you suggest they may have done something wrong, it upsets them tremendously. However, if they suggest there's something wrong, they want you to pity them and fix whatever it is. (This behavior is somewhat narcissistic, and therefore, may vaguely resemble the behavior of narcissists you know, but narcissists are not insecure in the same way -- narcissists do not wish to gain reassurance as much as they expect your approval; narcissists believe everything they do is perfect as is.
) Histrionic people want your constant attention, help, and support for their dramas. Generally, narcissists just want your admiration and obedience. Histrionic people have an inexhaustible need for continual reassurance, acceptance and consolation. They have an unquenchable thirst for attention, and frequently, this takes the form of seeking a tremendous amount of ongoing support and empathy.

Note: A need for excessive reassurance is also seen in Dependent Personality Disorder.

2. THEY CREATE DRAMA.
Histrionic individuals are addicted to drama. If there's no drama for a few minutes, they will manufacture some drama out of nothing at all. Is everything going fine? That's got to change! They (and you) never have any true peace, because histrionic people find the lack of drama far too boring. If drama does exist, they feed on it, extend it, fan the flames, give all their energy to it, and foster it as long as possible. If there's a shortage of drama, they will go to any length to get some going -- they will even even flat-out lie -- to generate something. Everything is a "big deal", and you cannot suggest otherwise, or else, now it's an even BIGGER deal because you're denying that it's something truly worth getting all upset over!
3. THEY'RE INAPPROPRIATE.

It's not uncommon for people with HPD traits to be very inappropriate sexually. Their boundaries are usually unhealthy and the rules are hazy (or completely non-existent). Behaviors involving seduction, attraction and sexual activity and contact are common among histrionic people, and these poor sexual boundaries can create a lot of emotional upheaval for people in their circle of influence. Because histrionic individuals are addicted to attention, inappropriate sexual attention may often be sought, and the most inappropriate attention is foisted upon the most inappropriate people in the most inappropriate scenarios. Provocative attire, out-of-line propositions, infidelity and out-of-control flirtatiousness is common. It has been noted that despite their overabundance of inappropriate sexual behavior and provocation, ironically, many histrionic people suffer from sexual dysfunction and other significant difficulties with intimacy.

4. THEY TALK A LOT.

Talking is o
ne of the easiest ways to capture and maintain peoples' attention, and histrionic people love attention, so excessive talking is often seen in
people with HPD traits. The two most highly-favored topics are themselves and their current drama; however, if that fails to gain attention, whatever topic works will be used. HPD people are often (but not always) very gregarious and chatty, and frequently interrupt and dominate conversations, having little patience for topics not central to their reality. They have a limited or non-existent ability to discuss matters in detail. They communicate in big broad strokes, and their listening skills are generally very weak. Contemplative introspection isn't at all likely. Masters of the attention-grabbing sound bite, they perceive things on a grand scale and do not go beyond the outside surface of topics, and dramatic topics are preferred. Talkative histrionic people love to talk; however, not typically about the nuances of Shakespeare, your vegetarianism, creative knitting patterns, aviation terminology or the economy -- at least not in any kind of detail. Expect to hear sweeping and dramatic sound bite-style tidbits about celebrity gossip, their most recent grave difficulty, the newest dance move, or some kind of tragedy instead.

5. THEY MANIPULATE FOR ATTENTION.

Most everything histrionic people do is to get the most dramatic attention possible. What they wear, what they say, what they do (or don't) how they do everything - is all designed to garner the maximum amount of attention. Stretching the truth and lying are common among people with histrionic traits, as is manipulation and game-playing. Nothing must get in the way of their regular supply of dramatic issues, attention, discord and conflicts, sexual tension, rumors, big to-dos, claims of everything falling apart, and needing lots of empathy, approval, or significant assistance from others. Many histrionic people will tell lies to see these goals met, so lies, half-truths and even downright full fabrications are commonly seen in people with histrionic traits.

Note: Not all people with HPD will do all these things, and some of these things are occasionally done by people without HPD. This list is not exhaustive; these are simply some common examples.

Well, I suppose I was so used to drama at my own house growing up it seemed natural. A lot of this fits her, but five is definitely her without a question. The other traits have been there though, through her life at different stages.

What I have learned is that you can only control yourself and if someone tries to control you as a parent, sibling, friend or husband and they need you to be tuned into them constantly, then something is wrong. Never let anyone define who you are as a person. People like these cause more harm than most people would think and leave scars that last a lifetime. What's good as we can heal it as best we can. You can forgive, but don't forget. Not ever.

Wow!! I'm floored that I have so many page views! I never thought my life was that interesting! LOL! But here it is, I have been blessed with a lot of page views and what's really funny is that when I started this blog it's basically a diary of my life. I didn't expect anyone to look at it, so needless to say I am so surprised - pleasantly surprised by the views. For those that stop and actually read more than what's on the first page, I thank you! If you like it, come back again! :-)

I am just genuinely happy and thank you all!

As for my day, it wasn't really that interesting. I worked on my Facebook pages and posted in my groups. I also created a new page called "Overcoming Abuse" which I try to post things as encouragement to others AND finding things about personality disorders that could be what the abusers have. Not to excuse them but to help us understand that whatever they did to us was NOT our fault. I grew up with abuse and as I got older I was abused by my siblings and a now Ex Husband. I have even had a friend once upon a time who was also attacking me for no reason. But that's basically where I post this stuff. I want to encourage others and to let them know they can survive and become better than they ever were. That the abuser doesn't get to decide what kind of person you are, how you think or how you feel. In fact, it shows people how shallow, malicious and critical they are. But anyway, I didn't hope in my "Holidays Through the Year" page today. Not that I won't, but I am getting pretty tired.

I woke up around 7:00am. I have been waking up so early these last few days, but I don't mind it. I was able to get right onto Facebook and start my stuff. I also made a large cup of coffee - two actually. I had cold coffee in the fridge and it's perfect for the morning! I put in splenda and some creamer and voila! Delish! But I also decided to write a flash fiction that had been kicking around in my head for awhile. A Flash Fiction is a very short story (between 100-300 words) with a twist at the end. I had fun with it and a few people got a kick out of it.

I also did some regular chores like taking care of the kitties. I had to get Karissa fresh water and refill her dry food bowl. But what's funny is as soon as I open her canned food at night Romeo is right there. But Karissa eats her fill, jumps on the bed and starts grooming, letting Romeo eat the rest of her food. But other than that, she chases him out of the room. LOL! Sometimes I worry about Romeo, but he seems pretty fast and I think Karissa is just trying to make a point about this room being HERS!

I also made muffins today! I wanted to make a cake, but I didn't have the vegetable oil I needed for it. The mix is Caramel apple flavored with matching frosting. I just had to try it when I saw it. I have been waiting for several days, but Susan finally picked some up! So tomorrow is going to be caramel apple cake! After we eat that I'm going to make spiced peach cobbler! Perfect for September! In fact, if this turns out well, I might share it. It's super, super easy!! That's the kind of cooking I really like! ;-) Everyone loves that I have been more into cooking and baking, but they say I'm making them fat! LOL! They love it!

Other than that, I haven't done much else. I picked up Cassi from the trolley after she spent time with friends. Her hair is now blonde until she decides to go for another brilliant color. She was thinking of going back to pink. But she also got snake bites. She's wanted them and she had one lip piercing already. Jason doesn't like it, but he's dealing with it. At least he didn't act like a jerk. He has done that in the past, but I think he's growing emotionally and understanding more about Cassi. Plus, he's known for a long time she has wanted snake bites.

Well, tomorrow I'm going to see about going to my Mom's to do laundry tomorrow. If she's okay with that Jordan can help me with it. He is so much better off at Grandma's house than with my brother. He's one of the abusers in my family. but that's a story for another time! But for now, my life is good and I am enjoying everyday! I hope a lot of people are having days like mine. And if you're not, it's okay. Things will get better. Sometimes it just takes awhile. ;-)

Okay, done for now! Time to pack it up and go to sleep!

Happy 4th of July Everyone!!!

The day started like shit. My mother was a total bitch to me. She berated me, put me down. She did all she could to tear me down! Reduced me to tears and she fucking abused me over that too. And her excuse as always - then do what I want and I won't abuse you. Then she had the nerve to say to me that Diana was walking in the heat to the store because she felt I didn't like her and didn't want to ask me for the ride. Well fine with me!! The less time I spend with that bitch the better. But OMG! She thinks I don't like her?? I wonder why?? It couldn't have anything to do with the fact she treats my friends like shit and talks shit to my face about my kids. Whatever. She needs to go back to Florida and stay there. And she told me she wasn't going to be nice anymore. So if she's not going to be nice anymore, I don't have to be either. Not that I would tell her no if she wanted a ride. I'm a bigger person than that bitch. Probably scared my mom to death when I drove her to the post office and pharmacy. But whatever. With the way she treated me, she deserved it. I was so upset, I almost wanted to stay home and cut on my arms and wrists. But you know, I wanted to spend the 4th with people who actually love and care about me and who would never abuse me like that.

So anyway, I got on the computer for a little bit before we left. I made sure I got my swim suit on and that I have my 4th of July shirt on. Well, more like patriotic shirt, but it works. Then I picked Jason up from work. From there we went up to the pool over near Susan's mom's. I actually parallel parked. It went okay. I'm not great at it though. Swimming was awesome and so much fun. I have all kinds of pix though they aren't as good as last year. It's still good. And I loved swimming with the kids. We found a pool toredo or something and it goes through the water like a bullet. We all played with it and with a pink noodle. I just had so much fun in general and I really needed that.

After that, we changed and went and got our parking spots for the Fireworks! From there, I got a shopping cart and used that to walk to  Hometown. That was good. I hadn't been there in forever. It's changed, but it was still pretty good. The New Orlean's Burbon chicken was awesome! I went back for more. The sad thing is I just didn't have enough room to try everything I wanted. LOL! Ah well. I was so full after that. LOL! But we went back to the cars and hunkered down for the two hour wait. I was distracted for awhile but ultimately I started reading. Then  my light went out! Ugh! But that's okay. The Fireworks were fantastic!! The booms kept setting off  car alarms which I thought was hysterical. Some people were annoyed by it. But it was funny! Well, to me anyway. I also got better pix this year. Unfortunately, I have trees in my way, but I think I got some nice shots. Maybe I can crop them or something. Either way, they're good.

Jordan and I finally got home. Grandma is sleeping on the couch, because I was going to have Jordan tell her we were home. Diana is nowhere to be seen - which means she's probably upstairs - where she needs to stay.  So for the most part the day was good. Just the first hour or so sucked. I'm not looking forward to tomorrow though. There will probably be more shit instore either from Diana or my mom or both. They are making me miserable and it makes them happy, I think. At least it gives Diana the jollies and she gets jollies getting my mother to go against me too. Ugh! Bitch!

Anyway, focus on the good today. Focus on the good! It was really great to spend another 4th of July with Jason and Susan. It's awesome. I hope we do this every year! I have an early morning too. Ick. Ah well. Got to get this done. Gotta take Cassie to her AB2726 intake appointment. I just hope I can get down there and back.

Men . . .

I have a unique way of looking at the world and relationships. It's not a conventional one and I'm the first to admit it. I have no expectations of faithfulness . . . I have no expectations of much of anything really. Commitment is great . . . Marriage? Nope, don't believe in it anymore. I think, personally, that isn't a trap. It's there for two people to basically say, "I own you, you need to do what I say or else . . ." and you know . . . that doesn't work.

Now I know A LOT of people would disagree with me. They would say that Marriage is a beautiful thing between two people who love each other. That it's hard work, but if you're truly commited you can make it last a lifetime. Yeah . . . if both people want to work on it. That one doesn't think they have the right to rule over the other . . . I am convinced that yes, maybe it can work. But the two people have to have VERY similar value systems and have similar ways of doing things or else it just won't work. There isn't that same thought that you have to stay married just because - and thank god for that!!

I was married for 10 years. Well . . . almost. I would say out of those 10 years, maybe 2 were actually good . . . 3 if I push it. I won't say that I was the perfect wife. I know I wasn't. I am a slob. But he knew that before we were married! I didn't hide that. When we got married, he expected me to magically change. Maybe I had different expectations too . . . Like that he wouldn't flirt with other women . . . Of course, being married, I didn't think that one was too out of the ballpark for expectations. But it wasn't just that. We argued about money and the lack-there-of. During the first year of our marriage I got pregnant and we had a son. That was one of the best years I had. I did find that he had a bunch of dirty magazines under our bed and he said he'd gotten them to get back at me for a party I'd gone to that was just girls . . . I should have INSISTED that he come or that I shouldn't have gone to be with my friends. It was a dinner party at my friend's house . . .

But there was so much more. Verbal and emotional abuse. There were times it got physical. Probably about six times in 10 years. I guess that's better than some. Of course, the last time he hit me, I was 7 months pregnant with our daughter. She was almost 2 when I finally decided I wanted a divorce. I got serious about it after she was born. He begged to go to counseling so I said okay. I didn't want it said that I hadn't tried everything. But you know, the damage was done. It made it last one more year, but some things just can't be fixed.

Besides the physical abuse the mental abuse was worse. He blamed me for everything. Being bipolar and usually I was depressed (we didn't know I was bipolar at the time) he constantly pushed me. There was this one time, he wouldn't let up with his verbal punishment with me. I was in the kitchen with a knife to my wrist and he looked down at me (since I was sitting on the floor) and said, "Do it. You've talked about it so much, why don't you do it??" And to this day, I don't know if he wanted me to or not, but to push me? I was suicidal. The only thing stopping me at the time was our son . . .

But one of the things that hurt the most; It was literally traumatic; was when he had an affair. I was devistated and I was ready to kick him out. He had to convince me that he wanted to be with me. But the damage was done. In fact, at first, he didn't even tell me the whole story. I only got that he'd kissed her and felt her up. Well, she told him she was pregnant . . . which apparently she did with every guy she slept with. She told me herself how she'd lost twins and another kid. Apparently she was also good at miscarriages. Personally, I think she was lying. She always had this clouded expression of her face like she just wasn't there or was confused all the time. I think she was schizophrenic or maybe even bipolar complicated with hallucinations. I don't know. I don't care. But I remember being so upset and hurt that I told my husband that he'd better never know me how to use his gun, because if he did it again, I was going to shoot him. I meant every word at the time. Now I looked back on that and I laugh. Like he would even be worth the bullet. But it hurt me. Though I am so over him and over that. I mean, I don't give a crap who he slept with now just so long as he didn't give me anything, which he didn't. But there are still things from that time that I can't listen to or watch . . . I remember wanting to see this movie "Father Hood": and because he saw it with her, I can't watch it even now. Though I could care less about him, it triggers that pain. I also can't listen to the song "Lady in Red". I forget who it's by and I really don't care now. He bought that tape during that time. Some pain just resides there . . . It can't be undone. Even if you stop caring about that person, the trauma is there. And I swore I would never go through that again . . .

And so my philisophy . . . Expect that your partner will cheat. Expect that they will lie. Expect that you can't control them so don't . . . They will do what they will do and it's your choice whether or not you react. Maybe because of that, I just don't allow myself to get close enough to anyone anymore. My Ex put me through such a ringer that I will NEVER get married again. I refuse to let it bother me if my partner wants to screw around so long as he doesn't bring home anything to me.

Because I've said this to him (because it's not like we have a place to have much adult time and it's been months since we've been able to have sex or make love as he always insists on calling it) and he was getting frustrated. I said if it was that bad find someone else for the time being. If he needed it, he needed it. And because of that, he automatically assumed that it meant I was screwing around on him and that it was okay for him to do it too. WHAT?! So I get pissed. He's heard me talk about my Ex . . . I have explained this before. I KNOW I have . . . So it hit me from left field and he expects to want to get some tomorrow . . . Being upset, I'm not exactly inclined to "make love." Oh yeah, and that's something my Ex tried to pull on me too - "Well, I make love with you . . ." Like that made his screwing around any better.

And you know, even if I did (which I can't anyway, even if I wanted to, which I DON'T) I wouldn't be stupid enough to say anything. I wouldn't change my routine. I wouldn't change the way I act . . . and I would never say anything. It would be like nothing had happened. I would NEVER want to hurt someone. A mistake is a mistake. I forgave my Ex once . . . as much as I could forgive him. But the pain is still there, even though my feelings for him are long gone.

I just wish my boyfriend understood. I mean, I know he's gone through a lot too, but geez . . . I don't often compare him with my Ex, but he seems to always seems to try to compare me with his when something like this arises . . . I know both his wives screwed around on him, but I'm not them . . .

Sometimes I wonder if relationships are even worth it. Or maybe I am so used to being indepentant now for my own emotional sake that even though he and I are together maybe I will never be as close to him as he wants. Maybe I don't know how . . . maybe that part of me is broken forever. He and I have known each other for almost 6 years and have dated on and off that whole time. Only in the last two years have we been seeing each other seriously. I do love him. He makes me smile and laugh most of the time - something I desperately need more of. But he looks at me as his everything. There are times I just can't handle it. I can't be anyone's end-all-be-all . . . and I honestly think that I will never be able to love him the way he wants. But he says he'd be devistated if we broke up. The thing is, I have no intention of breaking up with him unless he hurts me, or brings up the pain. I have so much in my everyday life living with my family . . . I just can't handle anymore.

But what got me even more than that is when he asked me if this was about when my Ex and I started having problems. WHAT?? Our relationship was NOTHING like my marriage. And it was as if he were blaming me for the marriage going bad. Maybe he wasn't, but with all the things texted, it sure seemed that way. That might not be something I can let go of for a bit. With as much as my Ex hurt me to intimate that *I* caused the problems . . . screw that . . . THAT is something I will not abide by. I wasn't the abusive asshole. I didn't put him down constantly. I wasn't the one that verbally and emotionally abused me - and our son. I wasn't the one that screwed around. I wasn't the one that started the hitting . . . So . . . I can't even imagine why he'd intimate that . . . But THAT hurt.

As I said . . . Men . . .

Can't live with them . . . can't shoot them . . .

And I used to be so romantic and idealistic . . . Needless to say that bright-eyed bride is long gone . . . Replaced by a realist . . . Looking at everything with a sarcastic and brittle grin. Believe nothing . . . As Dr. Gregory House always says, "Everybody Lies" and he's right. Accept that and life is more managable . . . Your expectations change . . . and some things will hurt less . . . Though it doesn't work for everything . . .

Sometimes you have to wonder if life is one long tunnel

and you only reach the light once it's over. Don't get me wrong. I'm not actually as depressed as I've been before, but it's this feeling like every day is a struggle. My wonderful, darling, precious older sister (who is old enough to be my mom) got in my son's face last night because he was doing dishes and watching TV. She (get this one) literally stood on her TIP TOES to make sure she could (and I do not exaggerate this) scream in his face. The woman is in her 60's and she has to act more immature than my 17 year old son! I came out of my room and tried to talk calmly and she was so out of control that all you could do was yell at her. I swear, the woman has more wrong with her than I ever will, and I'm bipolar!! What the hell does SHE have??

Anyway, long story short - I got in her face and asked her how she liked it. She decided to say how horrible I am. That I needed to be a mother. I said that I was after I told Jordan to go to his room. Because I was protecting my kids from her. I then finished by saying that the conversation was over and I slammed the door in her face. What's sad is that my mother, of course, took her precious daughter's side. Believe me when I say that. My mother never wanted me to begin with. I know this because when I asked her why she'd had me (and this was before I knew I was adopted) because the risk was so high I would be down syndrome (both my parents were old), she told me "Your father wanted a baby." It wasn't, "I wanted a baby." It wasn't, "We wanted a baby." It was, "your father wanted a baby." And growing up, she made it clear that if you weren't her ideal of perfect and that you didn't jump when she told her or did it the way she wanted you to do that then she had every night to emotionally abuse you until you did it.

Of course, I wasn't the type to give in easily. I screamed and yelled back at her (isn't it amazing how all her kids do that - not just the screwed up one). I didn't do what she wanted until I wanted to. She slapped me across the face a lot of times for being mouthy with her and a lot of times in public. I grew up hating her and to be honestly, I still don't know how to feel about her. I don't love her - as in I don't get that warm, fuzzy feeling for her. I'd protect her - as if she were someone under my care maybe. But I have no real love for the woman. I think she managed to kill anything I felt for her a long time ago with her emotional and verbal abuse. And what's sad is her daughter Diana has followed in her footsteps. She has three girls and isn't it amazing how none of them come see her very often. In fact, I recall many years ago that when her oldest's daughter was around 6 years old, she refused to let Diana she her because of something she'd said or done. I think it was something she said. When this same daughter came out to visit, she made it a point to come tell me that her mother was a difficult person to love . . . Isn't it interesting that Diana told me the same thing? Only it doesn't appear to be me that is. My kids WANT to be near me! Unlike Diana's kids. I think they need the distance to be able to deal with her and even attempt to say they love her. You can't live with someone emotionally and verbally abusive and tell them you love them unless you are seriously lying. Personally, I can't lie like that. I can't bring myself to say it if I don't feel it. But like Diana, all of my siblings are like this. The boys are WORSE in a lot of ways because they have a streak in them that hates women I think. Or that basically makes them think that they can do whatever they want and the women in their lives should just put up with it like doormats.

Anyway, just because someone is put up for adoption doesn't mean they automatically go to a good home. In fact, I HOPE they have tightened up the laws since I was adopted because my mother NEVER should have been allowed to adopt a child. She never should have been allowed to have her own! IT's sad that some people who should never have children do and then damage them irreparably.

So I have no idea when this dark tunnel will ever come to an end and that I'll see light. I can hope it happens soon, but I won't hold my breath.
